About Me

I’m a 3rd year English major at the University of California, Davis with a specialization in creative writing. My father was the person who got me interested in writing; he was an English major at the University of Southern California, and always wrote stories for my younger sister and I. Despite his talent, he never pursued a career in the subject. I started writing when I was in first grade, when I wrote a story about three snakes on the hunt for their missing strawberries. It was terrible (as to be expected from a first grader) and was animated just as terribly by your truly, but my mother loved it so much that she printed out copies to give to every member of my family. Since then, I’ve always been writing stories—I have notebooks upon notebooks filled with ideas, ranging from one word to several pages.

I’m currently working with one of my past professors to get one of my short stories published, and one of my essays, titled Reduced Guilt: A Look at Morality, Femininity and Food, won an undergraduate award for the UC Davis Department of American Studies. I hope to pursue my MFA in creative writing and, eventually, publish my own stories and novels.
