Resources

Having trouble deciding whether the MFA track is for you? Could creative writing in an academic setting contribute to your writing in a positive way? Just need help writing in general? Here are some resources to help you as you think these things through.

1.) Rage on the Page

This is a site that I follow and love, and have read their article regarding the pros and cons of MFA programs several times through my academic journey. It offers insight from both perspectives and can help you make an informed decision.

2.) Insecure Writer’s Support Group

The title might be self-explanatory, but this is a very helpful group for those who are scared to share their writing with others or unsure about their own skills.

3.) One Story

This is one of my favorite literary journals. Seek inspiration from other aspiring writers or submit your own work!

4.) Scrivener

This is the word processing software I use when writing my stories. It has formats for outlining, allows you to edit certain sections at a time and plenty of other great features. It is a paid software ($45), but the time it has saved me is priceless.
